Stephanie Arsoska started Third Thread in 2015 in a freezing cold Guide Hall with two performers in her home town of Kirriemuir. Since that time the work has moved from Kirriemuir to Dundee and, with support from Creative Dundee and Dundee Rep, grew from drop in sessions to the established performance group it is today.
Stephanie trained as a performer with Cygnet Theatre Company and Jasmin Vardimond’s Dance Company, completed a degree in Drama, Applied Theatre and Education from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and recently finished a Masters in Teaching and Learning in the Performing Arts at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. For the last four years she has trained regularly with John Britton in his approach to ensemble, Self-With-Others, and uses this practice as a foundation to create work. Over the last ten years she has created a range of theatre pieces with different groups including devising performances in collaboration with projects such as National Theatre of Scotland’s Exchange, National Theatre Connections, Dundee Rep’s Next Up Festival and Chrysalis at the Traverse. She currently teaches Ensemble Theatre Practice as part of the Rose Bruford Foundation in Acting Course, lectures on the acting course at Dundee and Angus College and is the current Movement Lecturer on the BA Acting and Performance at Queen Margaret University, is an Associate Artist of Duende Theatre Company and a qualified yoga teacher and Qi Gong Instructor.
